1. What we do

PianoTranscription (“we”, “us”, the “Service”) is operated by RapidNova Private Limited. The Service converts audio recordings you upload into music notation — sheet music (PDF), MIDI, and MusicXML files — which you download from the page when processing finishes.

Transcription is performed automatically. Output quality depends heavily on the source recording, and we make no guarantee that any transcription will be complete, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose.

2. Your account

You need an account to use the Service. You can sign up with an email address and password, or with Google. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for activity under your account. One account is for one person.

We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the Service, for example by trying to get around credit limits or by uploading unlawful content.

3. Your recordings and rights

You may only submit recordings that you have the right to use. By submitting audio, you confirm that your use of the recording — and our processing of it on your behalf — does not infringe anyone else's rights.

You keep all rights you hold in the recordings you submit. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and analyse your submission solely to produce your transcription and improve the Service.

Transcriptions of copyrighted musical works are provided for your personal study and private use. You are responsible for making sure any further use — public performance, distribution, sale — complies with applicable copyright law.

4. Acceptable use

Don't submit content that is unlawful, that you don't have rights to, or that contains malware or anything other than audio you want transcribed. We may refuse or delete submissions at our discretion.

5. Getting your results

Your files are available to download on the page when your transcription finishes. Download them before you leave the page. We may delete stored recordings and results after a short time.

6. Plans, credits and billing

Every account includes a free 30-second transcription (5 credits). Paid plans are Plus at US$9.99 per month (600 credits, about 60 minutes of audio) and Pro at US$29.99 per month (3,000 credits, about 300 minutes). Prices are in US dollars and may change; a change applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you before it does.

Credits are used at 10 credits per minute of audio, rounded up, and are taken when you submit a recording. If a transcription fails, the credits are returned to you automatically. Paid plans refill to the full monthly amount at the start of each billing period; unused credits do not roll over.

Paid plans renew automatically every month until you cancel. You can cancel, change plan, or update your card at any time using Manage billing on your account page. When you cancel, your plan and remaining credits stay active until the end of the period you already paid for, and you will not be charged again. If you change plan part-way through a period, the charge is adjusted proportionally.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

Credits are used to run processing as soon as you submit, so payments are generally non-refundable. If something went wrong with a charge, contact us within 14 days at hello@pianotranscription.com and we will review it. Nothing in these terms limits any refund or consumer right that the law gives you.

7. Sample sheet music

Sheet music displayed on the site for well-known pieces is provided for demonstration purposes. Copyright in the underlying musical works remains with their respective owners.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
